SendpackAfrica's Comprehensive Solution.
Navigating Design and Research.
I was responsible for product design and user research for the app, including user, flows, sketching ideas, and creating hi-fidelity mockups. I worked closely with stakeholders.
I conducted some research from meeting users one on one, to creating an online survey using Google form.
Transforming Logistics Challenges into Seamless Solutions.
The difficulties in planning and monitoring deliveries cause delays, lost packages, and a lack of transparency throughout the process for many people and businesses.
By offering a complete delivery solution that includes a user-friendly delivery application, a merchant dashboard for tracking vehicles, and an app for dispatchers, SendpackAfrica aims to address these problems.
By streamlining the procedure, offering real-time tracking, and enabling multiple deliveries, these tools seek to enhance the delivery experience while also assisting organisations and individuals in better managing their logistics.
Goal.
Making it seamless to send packages from one point to another for people and businesses randing from large scale to small scale
Uncovering Insights:
Research Deliverables
The project's research phase was created to gather data on the state of delivery services today as well as the particular needs and problems that potential customers may have. The design and development of the SendpackAfrica solution were informed by this information.
To gather information, we engaged in both primary and secondary research. We conducted surveys and interviews with people and companies who have experience using delivery services as part of our primary research. Understanding their needs and pain points regarding deliveries was the goal of these surveys and interviews. In order to understand their perceptions of the current delivery services, we also conducted user interviews and surveys.
We examined the delivery industry's existing literature and data for secondary research. This involved looking into market trends, examining information on delivery costs and times, and examining the attributes and capabilities of the available delivery services. In order to comprehend similar service providers' offerings and their advantages and disadvantages, we also performed a competitive analysis.
Overall, the research phase offered insightful information about the state of the delivery industry, as well as the particular needs and pain points of potential clients. By using this data to guide the design and development of the SendpackAfrica solution, the target market's actual problems and needs were ensured to be met.

User Personas.
I developed user personas that accurately represent my target market based on the user research I did.
Key Insight
After conducting a number of user interviews, contextual inquiry and analyzing the gathered data, I was able to categorize the insights into these 3 categories
Users are unable to communicate effectively with dispatch riders hence unable to make multiple deliveries because they can’t explain it to the dispatchers.
Most businesses can’t make deliveries without disappointing their customers due to late deliveries from dispatchers. In addition, they can’t make scheduled deliveries.
Some dispatch riders take more than enough orders for delivery, hence lagging when it comes to making other deliveries within the expected time of delivery.
INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
Rough wireframes
Through the use of hand-drawn sketches, I was able to create wireframes. By first creating low-resolution wireframes, I was able to test out a variety of potential layouts rapidly. It helped me zero in on the most important features and user requirements before diving into the finer points of the design. I worked closely with stakeholders and developers throughout the wireframing process to ensure the designs met all business and technical needs. We were able to create a design that satisfies users and the company by iteratively improving the wireframes.

Authentication.
The SendpackAfrica team wanted to create a seamless onboarding experience for first-time users. To achieve this, we decided to use phone number authentication as the primary method for signing up. We chose this method for a few reasons:
● Ease of use: Most people are comfortable with providing their phone number, and it's a quick way to get started with the app.
● Contactability: We wanted to contact users immediately after they signed up in case they had any questions or issues with the app.
● Email verification: After users are onboarded, they have the option to verify their email addresses. While this isn't a mandatory step, it allows us to provide users with additional features such as notifications and order history.
To streamline the onboarding process, we ensured that users could sign up and verify their phone numbers quickly and easily without jumping through multiple hoops or filling out lengthy forms.
Delivery.
Users can easily create a delivery request on the homepage by providing the pickup and drop-off location, the type of item to be delivered, and the preferred delivery time. The app then calculates the estimated cost of delivery based on distance and other relevant factors. The app automatically assigns a nearby delivery merchant to handle the request, and the sender receives real-time updates on the delivery status. The delivery recipient is also notified when the delivery is en route and when it has been successfully delivered. This ensures that both parties are aware of the status of the delivery at all times.
User Profile
The user profile section provides easy access to their account information and options for managing their profile. Users can view their wallet balance and add payment cards to make delivery payments. The section also allows users to manage their saved locations, making it easy to select a delivery address when placing an order quickly. The profile section also includes an option for users to log out, giving them complete control over their account and access to the app.
Users can also verify their email addresses, which is important for security and to ensure the app can send them important updates from SendpackAfrica.
conclusion
Working on the SendpackAfrica project was a fantastic opportunity for me to delve deep into the logistics industry and tackle some unique problems. As a designer, I appreciate the challenge of solving complex problems, and this project provided plenty of that. One of the keys to success in this project was constant communication with the different customer-facing departments and talking to the customers themselves to better understand their needs and pain points. I learned a lot during this process and developed UX processes perfect for the logistics industry.
One of the most exciting parts of this project was developing a user authentication system that allowed new users to get started easily and quickly. By using their phone number for authentication, we were able to make the onboarding process as smooth as possible. From there, users could easily make deliveries and give dispatchers all the information they needed to do their jobs well.
The user profile page was another important aspect of the app that we paid careful attention to. We wanted to give users full control over their experience in the app, so we added things like the ability to check wallet balances, add payment cards, manage saved locations, and log out.
Overall, this project was a great learning experience, and I am proud of the solutions we developed to make SendpackAfrica a more user-friendly and efficient logistics app.
